Hello Becky,
From your list below I believe what you should have (ref. CP, Bassett of
Drayton, also Stafford, Earl of Stafford):
1 Ralph Basset of Drayton, co. Stafford
.2 RALPH BASSET, of Drayton, co. Stafford ["Ralph II" ?], k. 4 Aug 1265
+ Margaret or Margery de Somery
..3 Ralph Basset, of Drayton, 1st Lord Bassett of Drayton
["Ralph III" ?], d. 31 Dec 1299
+ Hawise [surname not proven]
...4 Margaret Basset
+ Edmund de Stafford.......................
I do not have the "Sir Ralph Bassett, II Lord Bassett" as you have
described below; however, is it possible this information was intended to
represent Sir Ralph Basset, knight, of Great Weldon, co. Northants. ? He was
the son of Sir Richard Basset and Joan de Huntingfield, b. 21 Aug 1300 and d.
before 4 May 1341. His wife was Joan [surname not proven], and daughter Joan
married to Thomas de Aylesbury.
Hope the foregoing helps.
Good luck and good hunting,
John
