---------------------- Are you referring to the son of Count Sancho Garcia
of Castile: Garcia II (1008-1032), nephew of the king of Navarra and married
to the King's daughter, assasinated by the older of the two Velas brothers,
or someone else altogether? (I'm just trying to get a fix on the dates.)

----------------------- I can appreciate what you are saying, still, Argote
de Molina quotes this couple as being responsible for founding the
monasteries at San Juan de Quixana, San Roman de Ocuendo, San Roman de
Orozco & San Vicente de Obando, so there should be enough documentation to
substantiate the claim of whom they were.
Argote also quotes a mention from Count Don Pedro, who died in the battle of
Alarcos (19.7.1195), of their son San Garcia de Salzedo. However, as the
original source of this was also the source of the Ayala ancestry (Pero
Lopez de Ayala) I'm not going to argue the point too much :)
