I usually go the newsgroup route for G-M/s.g.m, but I resubscribed to
GEN-MEDIEVAL when it became clear that there might be a problem with
the gateway. Having done it both ways for a couple of days now, it
does look like the gating is working in one direction (s.g.m postings
are showing up on G-M), but not the other (postings are appearing on
G-M which do not appear on s.g.m).

Of course, people who have only one of the two options available to
them will have to do the best that they can with what is available to
them, but for those who do have the option of going both the newsgroup
(s.g.m) and mailing list (G-M) route, I would suggest doing both while
the troubles persist, using GEN-MEDIEVAL to read the messages (since
all of the messages seem to be showing up there), but using the
newsgroup soc.genealogy.medieval to post messages (to make sure that
as many people as possible see the postings). It seems like the best
way to deal with an annoying (and hopefully temporary) situation, at
least until things are back to normal with the gateway operating in
both directions like it should.
