But you had seen the middle? The last inter-dynastic link is from _The
Structure of the Ottoman Dynasty_. This would provide a common Byzantine
descent for all the contemporary great leaders of the Renaissance: Sulaiman,
Henry VIII, François Ier, Karl V/Carlos I, Lorenzo _aussi_ the Magnificent
and all the other Medici.

No. That was mine from combing numerous Byzantine sources. A repository of
Byzantine genealogy is desperately needed. Lindsay Brook was working on one
when he abandoned the project due to ES. But ES leaves something to be
desired in this area.

I had concluded that Shams ad-Din's mother must have been this wife based on
the question why else would his grand-daughter have born 'Seljuk' as a name?
Hardly conclusive on its own; but in this context, I think that it
strengthens a possibility into a (quite strong) probability.
