I agree.
The chief objection to the use of color is that of
accessibility: lots of
folks have some form of color blindness. If color coding is
used, it must be
backed up by achromatic cues, and "Male/Female" seems a good
choice. The
initials M and F may be ambiguous to someone whose native
language is not
English. -R.
