Dear Sir,
Please ignore Mr. Hines' arrogant & useless attempts at twisting the
language of your message and engaging in semantic somersaults. I see
that you are asking if there are any people currently living who can
trace a descent from the family known as the "Plantagenets" through
their father, and his father, and his father before him, etc. The answer
is definitely yes.
I would consider the best example of this to be the family of the
Dukes of Beaufort (still extant) who trace their descent from Charles
Somerset, 1st Earl of Worcester (d.1526), an illegitimate son of Henry
Beaufort, 2nd Duke of Somerset (d. 1471) who was himself a grandson of
Sir John Beaufort, 1st Marquess of Somerset (d. 1409-10), who was an
illegitimate (later legitimized) son of John of Gaunt, Duke of
Lancaster, younger son of King Edward III. Although it does involve to
illegitimacies it is nonetheless the kind of line I believe you are
looking for.
Sincerely,
Kelsey J. Williams
