I have been following the conversation regarding Humphrey de Bohun, and have
come up with a couple of questions.
One of the earliest posts in this thread read
> I have Humphrey de Bohun (with the beard,) Lord of Taterford, b.c.
1066-d.1113; wife unknown. ....
Several of the sources recommended for internet perusal identify Humphrey de
Bohun, the Bearded as a companion to the Conqueror and show his death as
before 1093.
Question: If the Conqueror was conquering in 1066, what was he doing having
an infant as a companion? Am I missing a couple of generations here?
Another Internet source identified Humphrey de Bohun who died in 1182 and
married Margaret De Pitres as "Dapifer to Henry I"
Question: What is a Dapifer?
Thanks for your input....
Debbi
