My source was CP, 5:332 chart, 343-344, 11:605-608. (I guess this underscores the importance my reading the sources myself, and not just blindly accepting another persons references). Sorry.

What leads you to think that Sir William de Ferrers, 1st Baron Ferrers
de Groby, had two wives?

According to CP V:344, his wife was Ellen, who is said to have been
daughter of Sir John de Segrave of Chacombe, Northants [Lord Segrave],
by Christine, daughter of Sir Hugh de Plessy, of Hooknorton and
Kidlington, Oxon. Ellen was living, 9 Feb 1316/1317.

CP Volume XIV offers no corrections or additions.

Again, whence cometh this alleged second wife of the 1st Baron Ferrers
de Groby ---- do you have a source?

Cheers and Aloha.

| Henry de Ferrers (1294-1343), 2nd Baron of Groby, was the son of
William de Ferrers, 1st Baron of Groby. Which wife of William was
Henry's mother?
