There is no contemporary documentation, but she is the first
noble person in this part of Europe with the name, and so the
probable link to Charles Constantine jumps at you (his name also
being an innovation for the region, coming, it would seem, from
his Byzantine mother). All later Constances are thought to trace
from her, although it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.
