Brad, et al,
Your absolutely correct about Elizabeth Carew not being the daugter of
Sir Thomas Carew, Baron Carew and Joan Carminow, the dates quite
clearly did not fit! Also, I have now further information regarding
the Carew family.
I do believe that Elizabeth Carew was a daughter of a Thomas Carew
however. If she is indeed a daughter of a Thomas Carew, could she be a
daughter of Sir Thomas Carew and Elizabeth Bonville? From everything I
have read however, they only had a son Sir Nicholas Carew, Baron Carew
(b. about 1390) who married Joane (Jean) Courtenay. No mention is made
of further children, is this correct? Elizabeth could be an obvious
candidate for a missing child.
Is there any mention of a death for Elizabeth Bonville?
Can anybody therefore whether my suspicions are correct? Any
information regarding Elizabeth Carew and the Ley/Leigh and Tremayne
families is most welcomed.
Many Regards,
