Yes, indeed - William Shakespeare, the presiding genius of Douglas
Richardson's family, had blessedly no formal training in dramaturgy or
English prosody. As an historian he also rubbed along with "small Latin and
less Greek". We don't know of his skills as a genealogist, of course: I
imagine him even now, in the afterlife, beavering away to find a link to the
Richardsons of Salt Lake City, one of whose offspring is currently in
training for a post to SGM later this week.
