Subject: Yet another Ogilvy query who is mother of Alexander Ogilvy of Cardell
Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 12:01:22 +1000

Burke's Peerage, 1938, page 2203, article of the Earls of Seafield

James Ogilvy, of Cardell, who was unjustly disinherited by his father,
married 1st Janet Gordon of Lochinvar, 2ndly Marion Livingstone (she died d.s.p. 13 February 1577), by his first wife he had issue
Alexander

In Wood's Peerage of Scotland, page 582, Janet Gordon died without issue, and Alexander was by the second wife, and there was also a daughter, Margaret married to Robert Munro of Fowlis.

Which wife was the mother of Alexander?

Many thanks
Leo van de Pas
