Following recent discussion of the relations between Warin de Meer de
Metz and the often tangled sequence of Fitzwarins, I wonder whether
anyone may have evidence of the origins of Hawise FitzWarin who m.
Ralph (de) Gousille who d. bef. 30 Aug 1294? Meisel (1980) and
Painter (1961) are unhelpful here. As of 30 Mar 01 Henry Sutliff
believed her fa. was most likely Fulk V (d. 24 Nov 1315) & Margaret
ap Gruffydd, whose mo. was Hawise le Strange.

Thanks,

Cris
