Dear Rosie,

This appears to be the family of the earl of March [i.e., Dunbar].

Gospatric (or Cospatric), first cousin of Dolfin fitz Uhtred [grandfather
of the noted Robert fitz Maldred, lord of Raby and ancestor of the Nevilles
of Raby], was earl of March until his death in 1166 [1]. His son (eldest
surviving ?) and successor was Waldeve ['Waldevus' in the Liber Vitae], who
was earl of March from 1166 until his death in 1182.

It appears from the text that 'Aviza' [Avisa, or Hawise ?] was the wife
of Waldeve? Neither that information, or the identification of
Sibyl/Sibilla, is in my notes from SP. It also appears that an older son
Edward must have predeceased his father Gospatric, given Waldeve's
succession.

If anyone else has a 'lead' on these formerly missing relatives, please
pass it on.

Thanks again for the added mulling <g>.
