Looking for some more information of the issue of two younger sons of Henry,
4th Lord Scrope of Bolton.
Re: the second son, Richard Scrope of Bentley and Weighton, who m. Eleanor
Washbourne, I am trying to find more information on his daughters, Mary, who
was m. (1) to Sir Edward Jerningham (Jernegan), and (2) to Sir William
Kingston, K.G., and Jane who m. Thomas Brewse (Brewes) of Wenham, co.
Suffolk. If anyone has any dates, issue of the two ladies, and parents of
their husbands it would be greatly appreciated.
Re : the fourth son, Robert Scrope of Hambledon, co. Buckingham, and his
four daughters and co-heiresses : Elizabeth who m. Sir John Peche
(Percehay?), Anne m. Thomas Redman, of Bassall (Bossall), Margaret, who was
a nun, and Agnes who appears to have either d. young or unmarried.
Thanks in advance,
Melissa D
P.S. I greatly enjoyed the discussion of the parentage of Jane Neville.
There is also evidence in some of the testimony given by Geoffrey Pole of
his sister-in-law's father (buried somewhere in
the Cal. of State Papers of H8, which someday I'll try to look up).
