Dear Hap ~

Roz is ENTIRELY CORRECT. Mr. Hines is just looking for a "freebie."
I've never promised Spencer Hines anything, other than to autograph
his book. The request to autograph his book was made by Spencer Hines
himself. I graciously said I would comply with that request. As soon
as Mr. Hines produces a valid check for $60.00, he can obtain a copy
of the book just like anyone else. Simple as that.

Your statement that I have "repeatedly promised (in this forum) a free
book to Spencer" (your words) is a great untruth. You disappoint me,
Hap. I thought better of you. Last week you alleged I didn't have a
publisher. That was false. This week you say I've repeatedly
promised Spencer a free copy of the book. That's false, too. What
gives, Hap? You strike me as a good man. I don't have any quarrel
with you. If you have one with me, I recommend we take it offline.
You have my e-mail address. Let's talk.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
