RISC OS*. Continued development of the Acorn system using ARM processors
and the RISC (RISC OS) Operating System.
I use a StrongARM processor with RISC OS 4.02 but the latest machines use
X-Scale processor types with RISC OS 5.
[don't say X-Scale is for embedded machines - the ARM** design was
originally produced for (Acorn) desktop machines even though they can run
on the waste heat from Pentium processors]
*Reduced Instruction Set Computer(Chip) Operating System
**Acorn RISC Machines - Advanced RISC Machines
