Sorry, but this does not appear to be so.
My lad has built my last 3 systems for me, and is now doing another.
Each time he brings me right up to date re speeds of thingies, whatever (I
don't understand a word!).
My new system, including add-ons such as a cd writer, greatly enhanced
security software, etc. is coming out at around 400, and he reckons it's
equivalent to about 1,000 retail.
This is without costing his labour, of course.
All I know is that he buys the components cheap via the Internet.
But it is obviously very possible to bypass UK retail prices.
