Its a sad thing to see that same old phony charge pop up here again
and again, and it seems to me that whenever I see that allegation made
against this newsgroup, it is invariably in a posting advocating a
popular genealogical myth that has been generally discredited in the
scholarly literature (such as supposedly reliable Irish pedigrees
several centuries prior to the conversion to Christianity).
Good genealogists (of which this newsgroup has quite a few) are
willing to keep an open mind, but they still want to see the evidence,
and those who choose not to back up their opinions with real evidence
(for whatever reason) should not expect that thinly veiled insults
against those having opinions other than their own is a suitable
substitute for such evidence.
