Hi,
Well, I discovered that my coat of arms, minus the crescent for the second
son, was for the McFarlands of Scotland. Clear as could be. Then I found out
from two sources that the same coat of arms, with a crescent, was from a
MacNaughten related to the McCrackens of Ireland. Waiting for references. As I
said, the MacNaughtons and McFarlands left Argyll for Ireland in the early
1600's. We can look at the possibility that this second son McFarland gave it to
a MacNaughten. Interesting stuff. Charlie
