Can anyone tell me why this has caused so much fuss? The tv programme suggests that as Edward 4th was illigitimate
so was all the royal line down to the present queen. As for this being new research concerning Cecily and Blaybourne, a historical novelist wrote about it some 20 odd years ago, can't remember who exactly could have been Jean Plaidy or another but the details were the same even down to the document in Rouen cathedral where she got her idea from.
As for the taint of illegitimacy apparently acting as a bar to the throne surely they are forgetting that William the Conqueror was a bastard.
