According to the various Peerage Reform Acts, and rulings by the House of
Lords' Committee on Privileges, a peer must be able to prove sufficient
financial solvency to support the claim, ('though I don't know the current
amount, I doubt that a fork-lift operator could pass the test), and the
inherent duties.
