What happened was that someone cross-posted this thread to the medieval
history newsgroup and then we got in all the (other) loonies that reside
there.
I deliberately replied on two occasions but deleted the cross-posting
and set follow-ups to medieval genealogy, since when this particular
thread has been relatively sensible (no disprespect to anyone).
In other words, never cross-post! It just brings in the loonies.
