Dear Renia,

Do you have any further information? Was the Slingsby Bethell who was
a sugar merchant perhaps Slingsby Bethell (bap. at Kirkby Overblow 7
May 1657), uncle of the Slingsby Bethell who became Lord Mayor of
London? I don't know much about the uncle Slingsby, except that he
and his wife Sarah had a daughter Frances, baptized at St. Botolph
without Aldgate, London 27 Nov. 1698.
