There is some positive indication about Jimena's close kinship with, a descent from,
infanta Cristina:

I have understood that
Jimena Diaz' brother, don Fernan Diaz,
granted to his second wife, doña Endrequina Muñoz, daughter of conde Munio González,
the monastery of Santa María in Oviedo as arras 17 Apr 1097
which would be the charter of
Fernan Diaz having inherited, together with or from
dona Jimena Peláez and her kinswoman Elvira
Besides, Fernando Diaz is often 'the first witness' in documents related with Jimena Peláez´s family.

Jimena Peláez was a granddaughter of the Infanta Cristina Bermudez and the blind infante Ordono Ramirez, being daughter of their daughter Aldonza Ordonez
and Jimena Peláez had a sister named Elvira.

this sort of share in same inheritances is explained if Fernan Diaz' was descendant (generationally and chronologically, grandson fits well) of a sister of said Aldonza Ordonez.
Fernan Diaz himself seems to mention his mother had been this countess Cristina
and he was son of count Diego Fernandez.
