Subject: Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and her continued Banastre ascent

Last year I presented the evidence that Burke in claiming that the
marriage of William Cavendish of Doveridge to Elizabeth Holte occurred
in 1709 was wrong. Using that false date, some have given Henry and
James as children, by William's previous wife.

The evidence I presented then, showed that the marriage license was
actually issued in 1705. Thus the mother of all four known sons was
Elizabeth Holte. Leo is not yet showing this correction.

One of Elizabeth Holte's great-grandmothers was Dorothy Banastre, the
wife of John Holte of Stubley, and daughter of Nicholas Banastre of
Altham, co Lanc.

Nicholas was "aged 10" in 1552 and died in 1612.

Nicholas was the son of Richard Banastre "aged 18" in 1537 who, in
turn was the son of Nicholas Banastre "aged 8" in 1510 who in turn was
the son of Richard Banastre "aged 30" in 1504"

I will give you all a minute to digest that, and then tie it to a
recent thread here by someone else.
