Will is probably correct with respect to the maternity of Elizabeth
Butler, which would agree with that of her brother William (Bronwen's
ancestor). But it's worth remembering that presently the only
evidence for allocating the children of Theobald ("Big Toby") between
his two wives is the statement in the 1976 BIFR that the first wife
Bridget Butler d. shortly after 1774. It would useful to know how
this approximate death date was arrived at, and the date of the 2nd
marriage would certainly also be useful to know.
At any rate, Bronwen certainly has some rich ancestry in both of these
Butler lines. According to my data, Bronwen's ancestor William Butler
(d. 1812) has 27 lines of descent from Edward I and 143 from Geoffrey
Plantagenet. Not bad!!
