Dear Newsgroup ~
As a followup to my post earlier today, I've located an abstract of
the will of Elizabeth Bluet's third husband, Thomas ap Harry, Esq.
The abstract is found in the book, Reg. of Henry Chichele, volume 2
(Canterbury & York Soc. 42) (1937): 678. A snippet view of this
information may be viewed at the following weblink:
The abstract shows that Thomas ap Harry Esq., left a will dated 4
August 1415, proved 4 April 1416. It indicates that he held burgages
in Talgarth which he bequeathed to his son, Henry. His other sons
were Thomas and William. He made other bequests to Dore Abbey and
Clifford Abbey (Hereford).
No mention is made of his wife, Elizabeth Bluet. It is doubtful that
Elizabeth was the mother of any of the three sons named in Thomas'
will, as Elizabeth was 45 years old or older when she and Thomas were
married. Following Thomas ap Harry's death, Elizabeth Bluet married
(4th) before 19 July 1420 Sir William ap Thomas.
For interest's sake, the following is a list of the New World 17th
Century immigrants that descend from Elizabeth Bluet and her 2nd
husband, James Berkeley, Knt.:
Barbara Aubrey, Frances, Jane & Katherine Deighton, Edward Foliot,
Thomas Ligon, Thomas Owsley.
Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah
