I just noticed this. The 797 date differs from the 789 date I have
seen given this same event. Such a date would knock almost a decade
off the minimum age of Musa ibn Musa, and go a step to resolving the
chronological issue without adding extra generations. On the other
hand it would make Musa much younger than his prospective half-
brothers, Mutarrif and Fortun.

I do see I had the dates corresponding to volume numbers confused in
my earlier post. It must be a later volume that would have contained
the critical period of Fortun Garces. ~~~~
