FWIW the remarks on the Beresford family in both the text and the
footnote of this citation are at variance on several points with the
more comprehensive Beresford source that I've cited elsewhere in this
thread. And the descent given in the footnote for the Irish
Beresfords disagrees with the version of that family's descent given
in recent editions of BP (sub Waterford).

The Beresfords are a very complicated family with many branches and
frequent repetitions of the same names. The Beresford book that I
cited requires nearly 70 pedigree charts to cover the family. In
comparison most other efforts which address parts of the family (e.g.,
the visitations, or various Burke's volumes) are clearly incomplete
and often inaccurate. Caveat lector....
