Are you saying that Peter and Joan never married ? Or are you claiming that Joan's marriage to Alan was bigamous ?

Joan was married to Alan Cheney, but there is no evidence of a divorce
from Peter Brewes. The times ( 1349- 50 ) were chaotic in England. The
Black Death! Stranger things than unlawful marriages happened.
Peter claimed that Alan Cheney took his goods by force from Chesham
Boys. This may have been disputed goods belonging to Joan.
