Have you tried 411 and Switchboard.
I tried to find some girls I went to elementary school with in th 50"s.
Had no luck for the first 6years, but after I went online I tried them
and within 1 hour of searching I had found 7 classmates, learned 2 others
were dead and have a line on most of the others. One lives only 2 miles
from my mothers house here which is 5000 miles from where went to school
together. Try it. Carol

Subject: Translation of gravemarker

Hello to All!,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this or not. If it is not
can someone point me in the right direction?

I found these grave markers in Yorkville, Dearborn, IN in the church where
other family members are buried. The Heimburger is a family line I am
working on, and the Verdin name so far has shown itself as an indirect line.
I can guess what some of the information, but was wondering if someone
could take out some of the guess work?

This is how they look: Maria M.
Gef?in von
J.G. Heimburger (this was my 3 X's great grandfather)
Geft den 5-J(?)u(?)h, 1866
Au(?) 83 Day (?) 3 Mon.u.25 Tag

The other: Rith(?)urtis,
V(?) S. Verdin
Geborne Heimburger
den 8 J(?)an. 1824
Al(?could be a t)t 48J(?)ag(?) Mon.n 10 Tag.

Thank you in advance,

Paula A. Carle Bosch

Subject: THANK YOU ALL

I have elected to send my Thank-You's in this manner, so, everyone can
see what a group effort can achieve. My quest was to help my friend,
Lila Edith (Ward) Lockhart, find a friend from WWII days. The response,
not only pleased me but when I called Lila and her husband this morning,
they were delighted. There is research to be done-BUT, what a good start
we have-with the help of the ROOTERS!

A big Thank You to the following: PAM RIETSCH, SHARON L. CASTEEL, HERB
PHELPS, (any ancestor by the name of Philip??? He's hiding from
me.), DOUG AND CAROL, AND ALVIE (I think this is a good possiblity for
Pat's husband. He was an Ensign and all hints are pointing to Kansas
City, MO)

I'm truly grateful for all your help for MY FRIEND. To quote Pam, "As
always, the cost for this list is for you to go out and give someone a
hug right now, whether they need it or not because time is so fleeting,
they may not be there next time you have the urge." Thank you for the
kind and oh, so true, words.

My Best for my Searchin' Friends, Jan
