I've been reading with a lot of interest about everyone so I guess I should
get my feet wet too.
My names is Frances Stephenson but you all may know me as Fran.
I am 38 years old and have a great hubby and three kids. John 17, Grady III
9, and Betty 8.
I spend most of me days taking care of my family, and that in itself is a
full time job.
I became interested in genealogy back when I was about 16 years old. My
grandfather who I love very much used to tell me stories about things that
happened in his life time and I guess that is why i became so interested. He
was 96 when he died and had seen much of what we call history as things that
change his life one way or the other.
As i listened to the many tales he told I began to wonder how things might
have been for his grandparent, his great greadparents. I began to ask him
things about that and he was always patient in telling me these things. How
I wished now that I had recorded those stories, but I did write down the
family linage as he remembered them.(I was the only one in the family who
bother to write the names of our ancesters down.)
Then many years later I found the notes I had kept for so long and that was
about the time i got a computer. So I put one and one together and began my
search.
I began my search on the internet and still do a lot of my research there.
That is because it is the one resource most available to me. My family is
still growing and it take so much to care for them that there is little
money left to pursue my interests.
My hubby started to become interested in his family tree as well soon after
he saw what i had found. so Now we are both hooked.
I am still very new to the mailing list but from one question posted to one
of them I found a 4 or 5 cousin and hope to find many more.
My surnames are COYLE, ARMSTRONG,
ANDERSON,STEWARD,ROYCE,GREGORY,HARGETT,WILSON, there are many others but
they ar not direct line so I will put them on hold till i can get my direct
line lined out.
My hubby's surnamed are STEPHENSON, MORROW, COFFMAN for now as he works and
does not have as much time to pursue his tree.
I keep my eyes open for all of them hoping to add another person in to the
family tree.
The internet has helped me to find the living as well for as long as I've
been on the internet I had been hunting for an Uncle who had lost contact
with us....found him two days after Christmas.
It's been a good year and I look foward to another good year for fimd those
elusive ancesters.
Happy Hunting
Happy New Year to one and all
