Dear Pat;

I am assuming that the File was sent to you by an attachment. First I
will tell you how to open that file. Since it is an attachment to your email
message you should be able to send that Gedcom file to your Family Tree. Open
the attachment and when it says to Save To click on it. A box will come up
give it a name. and follow the instructions for saving it.
After you have done that go to your FAMIL TREE PROGram and open it. You want
to open that file as a new Tree. If this file was sent as a GEDCOM you should
be able to open it with out problem. You can also open through
WORD PAD, When you open the NEW Family File a box will come up and ask you to
name or select the file you want. Go through the list until you find that
file that you saved. Highlite it and it will come up and then open it.

When you have looked through it and made sure that is what you want you can go
back to the Drop down file and then click on merge Family. Then you can merge
that new file and your tree.

I just checked my Gedcom files and I found no such file as GEDSPLIt. EXE.
I went through and checked each file in all of my drives and ETC.
If you need any more help let me know. Also let me know if you have Family
Tree Maker.

Help again. some one exported a Gedcom file for me and can't get into
it again. Never did get into last one. My program says I do not have
Gedsplit.exe document to open gedcom. Can anyone tell me what that
means and how I get it???
