Let me expand on Zipping of files.

You can take ANY files and zip them up into a .zip file.

The purpose of zipping files is to decrease the size of the file for sending elsewhere (either on a floopy or via modem/email) AND if there are more than one files required for a certain function (like a program that has an .exe file, a .hlp file, a .doc file) you can put all the files into a single zipped file so that when it arrives at the other end the user has ALL the required files to use the program or whatever.

So, you have to look at the type of file you've unzipped and then determine what they are. If they are .doc files, you open them with a word processor, if they are .exe files, you execute/run them, if they are .pdf files, you open them with Adobe Acrobat Reader, if they are .ged files you import them into a genealogy program, etc.

So, it depends on WHAT the files are as to what is needed to use them. That must be determined by the user.
