I find it very difficult to diagnose a problem
via email. But one thing you might want to
try (that is free) is find a friend near by and ask
if you can carry your printer to their house
and try your printer with their PC.
It may give you more information.

Hello List
I have never asked for computer/printer help, but I am now! I have a Gateway
PC running Windows 98. I just bought it 6 months ago. I also have A Hewlett
Packard Deskjet 882C printer, which was purchased at the same time. It has
always printed beautifully. A couple of days ago, it just stopped printing.
Yes there are ink cartridges installed, and yes I have checked and rechecked
all connections between the printer and computer. I have gone through the
complete trouble-shooting help on-line. I have gone to the HP site and gone
through all of their trouble-shooting system. I've reinstalled the printer.
I think I have done everything I can possibly think of, to do. I don't
believe the problem is with the computer because when I click print, the
print box comes up, and I check what I want to and click ok. It's here that
nothing happens with the printer. Finally, the computer gives me a message
saying the printer is not ready, retry or cancel. Yes, the printer is turned
on and plugged in!! Could some knowledgeable person give me any hints as to
what I can try next? Nothing I've done has worked. I thank you , in advance,
for your help; it is much appreciated. Thanks again.
Sandi
