Your PFC may be empty but whether it remains so is another matter. Did you go
to Mail Preferences and UNCHECK "Retain All Mail That I Read IN My PFC?"
If not, the PFC will not remain empty.

Also, why would you want your PFC to remain empty? Do you not receive any
mail you wish to save? The copy of your email that AOL saves for you on AOL's
server will only remain there for 27 days. After that it will disappear
forever.
