Unless your machine is 3 or more years old, you shouldn't need to
replace the battery. What is the indication that you need a new one?
If its loosing time and you are running a Norton program, check with
their website for more information. If your machine is older than 3
years, there should be a somewhat conventional looking battery somewhere
on the motherboard. It may be soldered into connections on the board
which means that you would have to unsolder them and then redo it with
the new battery. They are not just plugins like a radio or flashlite.
If you have a newer machine, then it may be a small wafer type that is
also soldered to the board. Either way, changing a battery is not the
most simple thing. If you have the equipment and are comfortable with
soldering and electronics, then go ahead, otherwise, check around for
one of the local shops to find out who can do the change the cheapest.
