Hi, Elaine ,
The Queens Birthday weekend is looked on as just an extra day off by most
Aussies.It is held in early June ( and HER birthday is actually in April )
However Australia Day on 26 January is celebrated in much the same way as
American Independence Day ( even though WE haven't quite achieved
independence ( yet) <G>
