No, first I went to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/welcome.htm then I
went to resourses on the right hand side of the page, then I typed in the
make of the scanner, mine was 3300c. Next it takes me to a page asking what
type of Windows system I use, next it takes me to a directory for drivers
and downloads. I downloaded their file, sj514en. I couldn't get it to open,
so I called them, that's when I found out that all I needed was to tell her
the Windows version and the scanner number. They sent it free of charge,
including postage. This is the number I used:

1-888-999-4747 (U.S. ONLY)

9:00 a.m. to 10 p.m (ET) Mon. - Fri.
11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. (ET) Sat. and Sun.

If I can help you anymore, just let me know.

Vicki

Vicki...Did you have to call one of those 900 numbers where they charged you
$2.00-3.00 per minute while you waited for them to help you? I have a
ScanJet 5100C & I couldn't tell you the difference between yours & mine
except I got mine with Windows 98 so I would imagine that it is around 3 yrs
old. I am going to check into your idea though..& I thank you so much for
responding!
