Subject: To Shut Down Or Not To Shut Down!!

A good friend of mine left her modem plugged in for the week end they
came to the lakes. When she got home she had nothing but a black screen.
We had had a thunder and lightning storm. When she told me that i could
have cried for her. But asked her questions instead. Luck was with her
as she had shut the modem off and the warranty was still good. So when i
leave my home i unplug my computer from the surge protector plus shut
the protector off. Am so afraid of fire and our dog is in the home. If
some thing else causes the fire nothing i can do but i do not want to be
responsible for it.
