Also if you have a "Mute" key on your keyboard press it and this might start
your sound up again.

Check all your wires. Are they hooked up right? Are they in the right hole
behind the computer? Are your speakers on? Is the volume turned down?

Go to "start", "settings", "control panel" and "sounds." Highlight a sound -
the first one on my computer is "Asterisk". There should be some play and
stop buttons to the right. Click the play button and see if you hear a
sound.

I hope it's just something simple like a loose cord. If nothing works, try
to borrow someone else speakers and see if they work. If they do, then it's
your speakers. I once burned mine out because I used the wrong voltage AC
adapter to plug them in.

computer. I have no idea what happened. Everything was fine last evening
when I shut down. I am working on a Gateway Computer running Windows 98
sec. ed. Help will be greatly appreciated. June Newman,
