Peggy,

Keith Thompson has the best answer for you and I'll quote it below. My
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder has lots of files and about 13 folders too. Run
Windows setup from the CAB files or your Windows CD. That will reinstall
missing files and get you going. Here's Keith's message

"If you do not have the installation disk (Full Windows CD) you should
have the necessary files in a folder C:\Windows\Options\Cabs. You can
extract from these and even reinstall using the setup.exe that is
there. You do not want to remove windows first if you are going to do a
reinstall, just start the setup.exe and overwrite the files. Your
settings and configuration (other than opening and closing screens) will
be retained. If you have changed the opening and closing screens,
reinstalling will revert those to the orgionals."
