I am such a beginner, .and so thoroughly humbled, yet again! I have managed to get the software installed, but
other than having the connectors in back of the tower, can find nothing that indicates the USB ports are active, for
want of a better word. At the moment, I am being told that there is an error writing to the LPT1 port, which, I have
learned, I think, is a parallel port.

I will wait for advice, and/or try to find some locally, before giving up and trying the parallel connection.

It certainly is pretty, useless thing that it is!

One thing that is encouraging to me, or maybe two things. The kindness of people on this list, and the hands that
held mine yesterday, have me in tears of gratitude. The other thing, I have watched my knowledgeable son in law, the
one who is no longer around, go through this same kind of thing. He just had more tools in his box of tricks than I
do. Also, my nephew is another guru, and won't volunteer, because "problems" often turn into all day affairs, and he
doesn't have the time. <grin> Maybe I'm not so bad after all!!

Been at this for 4 hours already, and no coffee. I am obsessed.

Lou
