FIRST make sure they are not in the cemetery in unmarked graves. If you
check with either the Cemetery or the Town Clerk there should be a map of
the cemetery that shows everyone buried in it (headstone or not). We found
the unmarked graves of my gggrandmother and husband by going to the office
of the town clerk and viewing the map (if you are far away they should be
able to give you some kind of information about where the graves are
located or a copy of a section of the map.
Good luck
dianne
P.S. If they were buried on their own property the historical society may
know about this. In Maine, where most of my research is centered several
*private* cemeteries have had the graves recorded and documented. Assuming
they were marked graves or recorded by the family in a Bible or other
document. It's worth checking on.
