I am resending this because I committed the first newbie error - Always
make the subject line identify with the note. Most on this list would
have never read it under the Digest #.

My Dear Marian
We all have asked any number of questions and someone answered them for
us. With all the ups and downs, this is still a very friendly and
helpful list. So that we may get the best possible help for you, could
you answer these questions:
1. What kind of operating system do you use? like Windows 95 or Windows
98 or Windows ME or Windows XP?
2. Have you ever gone into the registry section of your computer before?
3. Are you comfortable copying a file to protect it, and then making the
changes one of our gurus instructs you to do?
4. If you just bought this computer, did you get it from a company or an
individual?
5. If you got it from a company, would you feel more comfortable taking
it back to them and asking them to make this change for you?
Maybe I didn't ask all the right questions, but I'm sure someone on this
list will be able to help you. They might need to know something I forgot.
You have a very happy and peaceful new year.

Hello:
Iasked for directions about removing the person's name that owned the
computer before me. Someone was kind enough to send them to me. I lost
the email some way.
I will tell you a bit about why I forgert and lose things. In July
,1999 a tractor-trailer pulling three pontoon boats drove through my
house within 12 inches of me. I was sewing.
I thought the roof had caved in. The truck threw my room 40 feet out
into the yard. I was trapped under the roof. The truck hit my car and
they both burned. Passersby pulled me from the wreckage. I ended up on
the highway. The helicopter took me to the hosp;ital and after three
weeks I moved back to St. Louis, where I grew up.
So m any medical problems but you know the thing that saved m e was
working with my genealogy and the computer.
I wish all olf you a wonderful N ew Year. Thank you for helping all the
folks that ask questions.
God Bless, Marian
