Duncan:
As I indicated in my earlier message, I received two CW Union soldier
service records Monday. Both include the enlistment form. Both declare they
are 18 years old. There is no sign anywhere of a parent/guardian signature.
Both enlistments were in 1864. Perhaps there was a lowering of the age by
this time?
