Dear Henri Weekhout,
If you find yourself an atlas of Europe, you will find Uppsala on a map of
Sweden situated north of Stockholm.
The name of Johannes Weekhout sounds Dutch to my own Dutch ears. It could be
translated as 'Softwood' ('week' = 'soft' and 'hout' = 'wood').
The fact that Ulla Weekhout was born around 1945-1946 brings me to the
considaraton that her father, Johannes might have been a Dutch World War II
refug who found asylum (and a woman whom he fell in love with and whom he
married...) in Sweden. However, I don't know if there was an asylum-camp in
Uppsala. That's something to look up for a reader in Sweden; as well as the
possible birth-certificate of 'your' Ulla Weekhout in Uppsala.
I hope someone will find a trace for you to follow.
With kind regards,
Herman van der Woude.
