"Rindal" is the name of several farms in Norway and also the name of a
parish and "kommune" in the "fylke" (county) of Møre og Romsdal. The
name has two distinct parts: Rin- and -dal. The last one means valley.
The first part seem to have it is origin from rivers called "Rinna" or
something like that. The verb "rinne" or "renne" is related to the
English verb "run".
As far as I know, "Rendal" is not a name of any farms, but on a parish
in Hedmark "fylke" (county). The origin of this name is not 100% sure,
but most theories tend to explain the name with the animal Reindeer.
Also in this name the last part is -dal which means -valley.
