I'm looking for my grand-uncle Peder Jacob Sverdrup Seeberg, born
1860 near Tonsberg, Norway. He was either a ship master or first
mate. As far as we know he settled in Brooklyn at some point in time,
probably before 1900, he kept in touch with his older brother Hans
Seeberg, postmaster in Moss, Norway until Hans died. After that the
family lost all contact with him. I've tried New York censuses, and
some other sources, but he doesn't turn up anywhere. Does anybody
have some suggestions for further searches? Or does anybody have
information on him. It is quite possible that he never became an
american citizen...
Still hoping to find out what happened to that branch of the family.
Greetings
Kaare Seeberg Sidselrud
Oslo, Norway
PS
I have a photo of him if that would be of any help, it will, however,
take me a while to get it scanned.
